2023-24 school year Prep: 3rd hour (9:20 - 10:19am) Room 203, Chippewa Valley High School Phone: 586-723-2603 [email protected]
Personal: This is my twenty-second year at the Valley and I'll be teaching English 10, AP English Language & Composition, and Theater Arts. In 2005, I received a grant to attend the National Writing Project at Oakland University where I had the opportunity to study the teaching of writing, both as an educator and as a student, and most recently I've been workshops and institutes at Columbia University's Teachers College. In my spare time I can often be found on the golf course or onstage at Village Players, Avon Players, or Ridgedale Players where I occasionally indulge my acting bug. Past performances onstage include: A Few Good Men, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest,A Christmas Story, and Noises Off. In April of 2011 I made my screen "debut" as a reporter and bookstore patron in the movie SCRE4M. I've had the good fortune to travel from Norway to Spain and the eastern shores of France to the Austrian Alps during both personal and school-related trips -- priceless adventures that provide me with inspiration for the classroom.
Education: Bachelor of Arts and post-graduate studies, Oakland University; Master of Arts in Teaching, Wayne State University; post-graduate studies, Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, Columbia University
Certification: I am certified in the State of Michigan to teach English and history.
